Lara Americo - Production & Music Education Director
"I volunteer for GRC because it is very important, when you are young, to know that you have a voice.   I volunteer because Girls Rock gives me the opportunity to be a positive influence.  I get to be the mentor that I never had growing up which is important to me."

Krystle Baller - Music Director
"Creativity is in my lifeblood and I am beyond elated to share my knowledge with children.  Being a mother of a girl myself, and a female in a male dominated profession, I am very driven to change equality issues for young girls and women through the universal language of music.  Seeing the kids build confidence in themselves is the most rewarding thing I have ever experienced and I look forward to continuing to empower females of all ages.  We really can be anything we want to be!"

Shannon Bauerle - Program Director
"Girls Rock Charlotte provides a safe and nurturing environment for girls to explore their creativity and empower their rockin' selves!  I volunteer with Girls Rock Charlotte because I truly can see the positive effects it has on the girls’ lives.  Campers not only grow in their love of music but more importantly in the appreciation and love of themselves and what they can accomplish. Over the past ten years, I have taught at UNC Charlotte and am currently an instructor in the Women’s and Gender Studies program at UNC Charlotte. I am mother to a fifteen-year-old daughter who continues to amaze and inspire me daily."

Chesney Klubert - Volunteer Director
"I volunteer for Girls Rock Charlotte because I believe that the future is in empowering our girls. It is in teaching our girls how to use their voices both on- and off-stage, whether it be for music, personal interests, or for a cause that they believe in. I love being a part of Girls Rock Charlotte because it fosters an environment where I am constantly surrounded by amazing, inspiring leaders who firmly believe in themselves, our volunteers, and our campers."

Brit Swider - Youth Director
"I volunteer because I want to be part of an empowering and positive environment for young girls. I want to be part of a community that lifts girls up and encourages them to use their voices! Girls Rock CLT has created a space that allows campers to open up and start figuring out who they really are - it’s an awesome thing to be a part of."
